Description: Frame 14.5 x 16.5” Sight 12” x 10” Unsigned and undated. In the style of the WPA era Social Realist paintings depicting a boy in tattered clothing and his best friend with empathetic eyes. I do believe it’s American though the stretcher made me think Italian. I think the measurements of the frame being squarely in inches rather than what appears to be a metric conversion and the clothing worn by the boy is more indicative of American origins. Slight loss and a fleck of white paint both pictured. An excellent and charming image that captures the love and humanity present during the difficult times of the dust bowl and great depression. Found in the Los Angeles area.
