Description: This excellent pair of wooden nickels were made to promote the Longs Peak Council of the Boy Scouts of America's Camp Ben Delatour in Colorado. The camp is named for Ben Delatour, a banker and philanthropist who's large donation helped purchase the campsite in 1959. These wooden nickels date to perhaps the late 1970s-early 1980s. They are not any later than 1987, when the collector, a past President of the Rochester NY Numismatic Association, passed away. These come from that collection, along with several other lots of wooden nickels offered currently. Free shipping.
