Description: THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID. Check out my other items!Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a vintage key of "A" soprano clarinet. There is no brand name on it, but it is stamped "France". I'm not seeing a serial number anywhere on this, which is not entirely surprising...early French clarinets were not always numbered. It is stamped "A" to indicate the key, and "LP" to indicate it is low pitch (the desired tuning for modern use). This instrument is made of grenadilla wood. This instrument is being sold as is. The pads are in good condition, and it does play top to bottom in its current state, but it would need some work to be in optimum playing condition. Please read on for additional details about its condition, check out the pictures carefully, and if in doubt, ask questions.I just want to mention right off the bat that the barrel is not original to the rest of the instrument. Frankly, it isn't the best match. There is a slight gap between it and the upper joint when assembled. I would strongly recommend getting a different barrel for it.This instrument is in overall very good physical condition. It looks like it might have had a crack pinned on the upper joint, but it was very well done, as it is barely visible. I don't see any evidence of cracks on the lower joint. There are a couple of hairline cracks emanating from the bottom of the bell. There are no cracks in the barrel. There are no chips to the tenons or tone holes. The bell flare and tenon rings are all tight. All of the keys are moving freely and rebounding properly when released. The nickel finish has dulled with age but would buff back to a nice luster if you so desired. As mentioned above, the pads are in good condition, but it could benefit from some adjustment. There is no mouthpiece, ligature, cap, nor any other accessories included. It does not come in a case. Please feel free to message me with any questions. Thanks again for looking! CElot
