Description: Offered here is a vintage WW2 fighting knife made by the Western Co. of Boulder, Colorado. . These were issued to Army, Navy, and Marine Corps personnel in WW2 and after. Knife and sheath are both still in quite good condition. The 6” blade still has much of the blueing still on it, and some debris from whatever it was used to cut last. Also has a small amount of rust which can be easily managed. We believe this knife might be what was called the “Shark” model, due to the blueing and the patent number. The handle is stacked leather and the finger guard is brass. All elements are nice and tight. We suspect this to have been issued to either Navy or Marine Corp personnel because of the nautical style “ropework” on the handle. The sheath snap works and fits, but the fit is tight. This is quite a collectible, and a superb artifact of the WW2 era.
