Vintage VOLKSKUNST WALLACH Wooden Band Box Hand Painted German Shaker Folk Art

Description: What an adorable box with hand painted folk art bird, heart and flowers. Red and blue bands around the sides. Stamped on bottom, believe the painters initials on bottom. Excellent condition, looks new. This beautiful box measures 4.5” long, 3” wide and 1.75” high. A Volkskunst Wallach painted box is a hand-painted wooden box that is considered German folk art. The boxes are often painted in cheerful colors and decorated with scenes of people, flowers, and animals. Volkskunst Wallach was a shop in Munich that sold folk art and clothing. The shop was owned by the Wallach brothers, who were Jewish. The brothers were persecuted by the Nazis, and one was murdered. The other two brothers escaped to America. The business continued to operate under different owners until 2004 All items I sell are cleaned and stored in sanitized condition and packages are put in my mailbox or taken directly to the post office. I have been selling on eBay for 23 years with lots of repeat customers and a great seller rating.
