Vintage USA Made Peavey TG Raxx Tube Preamp Peavey Rack Mount Guitar Tube Preamp

Description: PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION FOR CONDITION, SHIPPING, & OTHER INFORMATION. Up for sale is this vintage USA made Peavey TG Raxx Rack-mount Tube Guitar Preamp. Tested and fully functional. This unit sounds great. This preamp was serviced before I bought it. I don’t know the full extent of the repairs made to this preamp but It looks to at least have had 6 of the 8 pots replaced with new ones, from what I can tell, and the tubes have been replaced. It’s hard to make out the brand of one of the tubes, but the other one is clearly marked as a GT Grooves Tube 12AX7. Unit does not come with any factory mounted rack ears as they were long gone before I ever purchased this preamp. Though I am including a set of aftermarket rack ears that will need modification in order for them to work properly and to be installed. (See Pics) The Rack ears are NOT the ones that came on this unit, and are not designed for this unit, however they were ordered by me years ago to install on this unit but I never got around to it. They are not designed for this unit but look like they would work with modifications to mounting them. I do know that with these aftermarket rack ears installed as is, the unit will be to wide to fit into a 19” rack box so you may need to either RE-bend the rack ears or cut the ends off to make them work so that the preamp can be installed in a 19” rack box. I would recommend re-bending them at a different angle point so that they will work properly. Re-bending them at a different angle point will shorten the ear part that extends out from the side of the preamp and should work after that. Either way I am throwing these aftermarket rack ears in at no charge. Aftermarket rack ears are free with the purchase of this preamp. If you can’t get them work them nothing lost. Assume this preamp comes with no rack ears when you purchase it and if you can make these work, great, and if not, again, you are buying a preamp without rack ears anyway so nothing lost. I’ve just used a rack mount shelf (RACK MOUNT SHELF NOT INCLUDED) and set this preamp on it and it worked fine for sitting in my rack but my rack never moves. Such an insanely underrated preamp. But, so much of the 80's and early 90's Peavey stuff was seriously overlooked. I’ve had quite a lot of fun playing around with this preamp over the years, but now's it's time to let it go. It has a surprising amount of versatility. It's basically the no-frills, baby brother of the RockMaster tube preamp. Please review all pics as they are part of the description. The TG Raxx was the company's first instrument tube preamp (before the Rockmaster and TubeFex).
