Description: This vintage Tiki Trader Vic's Suffering Bastard Decanter is a must-have for collectors of unique barware. Made in the Bay Area of California, this decanter is a rare find for anyone who loves the history of Tiki culture. The design features a suffering bastard, a character that is beloved in the Tiki community, and is sure to be a conversation starter in any bar or kitchen. Crafted with care, this decanter is perfect for storing your favorite liquors or for display purposes. The SF-R-22 model is a classic collector's item that will make a great addition to any collection. Don't miss your chance to own a piece of Tiki history with this vintage decanter. It is my understanding that the stamp on the bottom that states "Federal Law Forbids Sale or Re-use of this Bottle SF-R-22" was put in place due to prohibition. One law required that alcoholic bottles must be embossed with the text, “FEDERAL LAW FORBIDS SALE OR REUSE OF THIS BOTTLE” This law went into effect in 1935 and was repealed on December 1, 1964. So while i cannot give the exact date of the decanter, it is a good bet it is from between 1935 -1964.
