Description: Offered here is a single, perfect 9-ounce, soda tumbler that was a promotional item offered by THE VARSITY of Atlanta, Georgia during the early 1950's to serve Coca-Cola beverages to their patrons! The Varsity was founded by Frank Gordy adjacent to the Georgia Tech University campus in 1928 and is still operating today as one of the world's largest eateries. This vintage collectible depicting a #14 football player in yellow was crafted by Libbey Safedge Glass Co.; a division of Owens-Illinois of Toledo, Ohio for The Varsity. Glass measures 4-3/4" tall & 2-1/4" in diameter. Condition is excellent! No chips/cracks or repairs & looks virtually unused. Fantastic piece to add to any collection or nostalgic setting!
