VINTAGE TALKING BARBIE WITH BRUNETTE NAPE CURL HAIR

Description: Up for auction is a VINTAGE TALKING BARBIE WITH BLONDE NAPE CURL HAIR -MUTE. (c) 1967 Mattel, Inc. U.S. & Foreign Pats.Pend. Mexico. Her knees click 3x and hold 2x. Her hair does not appear to have been cut nor does she appear to have any missing hair plugs. She does have some loose strands of hair and some strands that have broken off. Her hair has been washed, set, hard curled and sprayed to keep the curls in. Her makeup is all original. Her eyelashes have been rerooted. Her pull string does not pull out and she is mute. She has no nose nips, no green ear, no head splits, no pin pricks. She may have scrapes, scratches, light staining &/or dents on her body as expected for a 50-year-old doll. She comes with a reproduction white vinyl bikini that I made (not the original vintage white bikini). Her sleeveless knee length gold net sleeveless cover-up is vintage and has two gold buttons in the front which attach with a small piece of elastic. PLEASE NOTE: I do not know her history as I am not the original owner. Vintage talking Barbies were notorious for their arms and legs breaking off shortly after purchase. This Barbie's arms and legs were broken off when I purchased her and I have repaired them utilizing vinyl screws. Her legs do remain fragile but can be bent and straightened. As you can see her arms are slightly off from her shoulders but are not loose or wobbly. When applying the vinyl screws I likely destroyed the talking mechanism within the Barbie so if you purchase her with the intention of restoring her talking mechanism you probably can't. Her gold cover up is of unknown age and may have fraying, holes, runs, tears, fading, stains, torn seams, and torn hems. I did add some frame stop around the arm openings as there was some fraying. Her swim bottoms are a bit tight so remove them very slowly perhaps adding a bit of cornstarch so they will slide easier. She was no doubt purchased as a toy and played with by children. She is not for the collector looking to purchase a doll in mint condition. Stand is not included. I have been repairing & restoring Barbies for over 25 years & spend many hours on each Barbie. I do my best to describe all flaws & repairs but may have missed something so please examine the pictures closely and ask questions as my vision is not as good as it used to be.
