Description: This is a Vintage Slaters Hatchet by Tacony. It was designed to be used to install wood shake or slate roofing materials. This hatchet was hand forged. It is a #3 and weights 2lb. 9oz.. The lettering" Tacony Solid Steel " is hand stamped and not machine struck. I estimate the hatchet was made about 1900. A very hard to find tool in this condition.
