Description: SEE PHOTOS: MECHANICALLY STRAIGHT AND SOUND, SOME PAINT LOSS, SCRATCH ON RIGHT SIDE OF FORK CROWN. Threads are good, no bulges from excessive quill-stem tightening, steer-tube is straight, blades are aligned, no cracking around fork-ends etc.. This is a beautifully crafted fork from an early 80's Specialized Sequoia. (I think it was an 1982) Great bike! A few years ago the bike developed a creaking sound from the bottom bracket and realized the lug had cracked from fatigue. I had to retire the frame. The bike was never in an accident under my ownership and there was nothing wrong with the front-end, so I salvaged the fork hoping someone could use it. Designed for 622/ 700c wheels, uses 47-57mm medium-reach non-recessed side-pull calipers. I used it with 28mm wide tires and 45mm wide fenders, but it will fit some 32-wide tires without fenders. The fork is chrome plated under the paint. There's a single set of fender eyelets. Made in Japan from Tange tubing with Shimano SF fork-ends. Attractive fork crown with heart-shaped cut outs on the inside. The mark on the fork crown appears to be a scratch, the metal is deformed (raised) around it and it doesn't have any other qualities suggesting a crack. If you have concerns about it, feel free to ask specific questions. I am the second owner of the bike and used it for years as a commuter, so I'm sure it fell over at least once while being locked up on bike racks or loaded into cars etc. MEASUREMENTS:-steer-tube length: 225mm-axle-to-crown: about 370-372mm-thread length: 40mm-crown-race: 26.4mm
