Description: Vintage or antique solid silver large (approx. 2" tall with rotating bale; weight approx. 4.7 g) Crucifix pendant featuring an ornate "budded" Slavonic Orthodox design of the Savior's Cross with a high-relief iconic image of the Crucified Savior and the "INRI" nameplate inscribed with Cyrillic letters as "INЦI". The large rotating bale of the crucifix bears a small image of the Cross, whereas the reverse displays an engraved inscription of the traditional Slavonic Orthodox prayer meaning "Save and Protect". The prayer reminds us that Christ the Savior is with us to save and protect a person wearing the cross from every evil and all enemies visible and invisible. There are no visible silver hallmarks, but the pendant and its bale were tested and both showed red color with the acid test corresponding to the solid sterling silver purity of metal alloy. The pendant has visual antique appearance with signs of aging and wear that might include diminished quality of the artwork, deformations of its original shape, scratches, dents, and patches of discoloration/dark patina. The necklace bale loop of the pendant shows signs of wear consistent with many years of continuous wearing. The size and weight of the item are shown on the photographs for this listing.
