Description: Description:- Vintage Sheffield EPNS Silver Plated Three Piece Tea Service - Signs of Use Condition:- There is plating wear to the teapot with the yellowish colour of the Nickel Silver coming through, noticeable to the decorative rim of the pot, and the top , and to the rim around the lid, and to the hinge area. There are some other scuffs etc but overall the plating is good to the main body. The interior to the teapot is stained. The Milk Jug and Sugar bowl are in good condition. There is residual tarnish to polish off on all pieces. There is a very slight movement to the wooden teapot handle, wooden finial to the lid is securely attached Maker:- Stamped for Maxwell & Son Sheffield A1 - they were active from 1855 onwards. I date this to the early years of the 20th Century Measures:- Teapot 9.5 inches from tip of spout to tail of handle by approx 5.5 inches in height to the top of the handle; holds approx 1.5 pints.
