The straight mute part of the cup mute is missing the original label, but the original corks and brass tip are in place. The side seam is tight, and most of the original paint remains and looks good considering its age. A previous owner's name is carved on the bottom of the mute. A good amount of the original gold paint remains on the cup, and the adjusting clamp tightens easily. There are a few dents, but overall, the cup looks great. Shastock mutes are arguably the best mutes ever made and are sought after by musicians for their unique sound quality. They are especially great for jazz.
