VINTAGE SCHWINN HURET SPEEDOMETER 0-60 MPH BLACK CHROME GOLD BICYCLE SPEEDO HEAD

Description: This is a real sparkler, a gorgeous and relatively rare all-chrome accessory from about 1970, by Huret of France and in full working order: their own house-branded deluxe speedometer. It's compatible with the same drive hubs and drive cables used on all the other Huret-made Schwinn Approved or Sting-Ray speedometers. (See my other listings for some examples of those.) The speedometer head is about 2¼" in height and width and 1¾" deep (plus the drive cable connection in back). It has a polished chrome case and rim, glass face, white numbers, and light gold markers and logo on a black dial with an orange pointer. There is no datestamp on the back of this example, but it is probably from the early 1970s. By 1973 this model would have a production Month and Year stamped in the upper left corner of the back, but this example does not have that stamp. (See Photos 3 & 4) This has been disassembled, cleaned, lubed and rebuilt. The chrome case, bezel and handlebar clamp have been polished and waxed. It has had a complete going-over, and is all ready to go back into service.
