Description: Here's a cute little portable Volt and Amp meter made by Schaar & Company of Chicago Illinois. Judging from the cast iron case and metal handle, as well as the low voltage scale (0-15) I think it's intended use was in automobile electrical work, in shop use. The scale is also silvered metal in composition, with a glass window protecting it, so it is designed for a working environment. It appears to be ca. 1930s vintage. It is quite compact (2 x 5 x 5 inches, 2-1/2 lbs) and is very well preserved. The movement works. A pull/push switch (lower right corner) controls whether the meter indicates voltage or current. (in for Amps, out for Volts). There are separate binding posts for voltage or current as well, all marked. This would be a great desk top conversation piece! Thanks for looking!
