Description: This car's body is in great shape. The side of the car and rear wing say "RACING" instead of the cigarette logo "ROTHMANS". That anti-cigarette ban on toys like this finally got lifted and slot cars can now have their correct sponsor names on them. I believe this to be a Porsche 962 long-tail, with the driver's feet behind the front axle, protecting them, versus the Porsche 956 that had the driver's feet out in front of the axle. This is one of the rare spinner cars Scalextric made a good 35-40 years ago. I think there was a burgundy colored spinner Porsche 962, but I sold it 10 years ago or more. These spinner cars are highly collectible and rare. The tires on this model could use replacing as they've become somewhat hard over 35 years or more. This car can run without the rear magnet, but you may want to put some lead weight in the magnet spot to give it more traction. The 3rd and 4th photos clearly show the spinning guide pin. Don't confuse this device with the other non-spinner cars being sold right now on Ebay- those are not spinners. One of the cars on Ebay even has a different "RACING" logo, so a number of different variations of this 962 were done by Scalextric back in the 1980's or thereabout.
