Description: This beautiful chicken has a heavy substantial weight and large size. Unmarked but is possibly made by the Indiana Glass company. The hen lid almost sparkles due to the tiny floating bubbles that can be seen captured within the ruby red glass. The nest part has been made to look like a woven basket and is a very, very dark red. The cadmium content in the glass dates it back as far as the 1920's or earlier and gives a gorgeous golden glow as the light hits the glass This lovely girl is in good vintage condition. with one small fleabite on the inner rim of the basket where it connects with the top piece. There is a bit of roughness around the edge of the inner basket. I cannot see this, but I can feel it. There is also a burr on one of her feathers. Please see the last photograph. She measures 7 1/4" tall, 8" long and 6 1/4" deep. She is very heavy, weighing a full 3 pounds 10 ounces.
