Vintage RARE 1960s Astatic M-350 dynamic / DK-1 crystal microphone w cable # 1

Description: Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at one of the rarest Astatic model microphones ever made over the past 90 years. I have only ever seen 4 of these model mics for sale ever. This rarely seen and very unique Astatic M-350 mic is based on the earlier DK-1 model from the 1950's. The original DK-1 came with a small crystal element and all metal body with satin chrome finish. The DK-1 was an affordable, entry level microphone primarily used for dispatch and other basic communication purposes. The M-350 on the other hand was the upgraded dynamic variant and came in the ebony finish that reduced light glare. It comes with it's original Ebony F-11 adapter with the long Belden model cable in which to operate. Pic # 2 is from an old Astatic data sheet I had showing this very model and it's basic characteristics though the old data sheet is not part of this sale. This dynamic version came in both low impedance (M-352) and high impedance (M-350). This is the M-350 and it sounds incredible. A very strong clear tone that really comes alive when cupped in the hand and this is going to make an ideal harp mic. The mic is very "rockabilly" in nature and void of bass. The M-350 is lite weight and easy to cup. Total height of mic with F-11 adapter is Appx 5 1/2 inches tall. The M-350 is non-directional with a frequency response of 50 to 15,000 HZ. The dynamic version has a much stronger signal strength then the original crystal DK-1 and they held up much better as well. It has the high quality Belden 8401 model cable which is appx 18 feet in length giving you plenty of room to work with. It's in perfect condition being both pliable and soft. The cable has the male 1/4 inch end connector for use with most audio equipment and all guitar amplifiers. Lets talk about physical condition. It's gorgeous. It has an absolute minimum of wear and I would rate it a true 9 on a scale of 1 - 10. No dents, odors, fractures or pitting. The element is well secured inside and there is nothing loose. The F-11 adapter is just as nice and it too is the matching ebony finish. The F-11 allows you to use the microphone on any desk or floor stand you might be using. I do have several older stands for sale if one is needed for this mic. If you demand something rare and special or want to give something really nice to any musician or broadcaster you know...the M-350 is the one.
