Vintage RAGGEDY ANN & ANDY Dolls Knickerbocker 6" NEW Unopened SEALED SEARS

Description: Vintage Knickerbocker 6" Cloth RAGGEDY ANN & ANDY Dolls Unopened SEALED in plastic packaging with a SEARS tag on them, not in a manufacturer box. These are Knickerbocker dolls, they say Knickerbocker toy company, they do not say "Joy of a toy" on the tag, but they do say: Middelsex, NJ, made in Taiwan, Republic of China. These tags ARE cloth tags. I was able to manipulate the tag within the packaging to get photos from both sides. Raggedy Ann is wearing a dress print that seems more RARE (or less common) than typically seen on the knickerbocker dolls.The eyes are a little different that the other dolls that are around this age. Dolls have printed faces and blush/ rosy cheeks. Raggedy Ann is number 34122, Andy is 34123. This appear to be a SEARS catalog number? Knickerbockers were between the 60's and 70's before the Hasbro/ playskool era. Because of the different dress and differences with the eyes from what I have seen in other source photos- I had trouble dating these dolls, but I am guessing most likely 60's. Raggedy Andy is wearing the Sailors hat which seems to be more prominent in the 60's dolls. but I'm still not quite sure because my research shows that the knickerbocker dolls shouldn't have the blush on the cheeks and these do. SO- Forgive me if I'm incorrect on any of this, I;'m just hoping to give all the details on this great find! -Of course if anyone has any info I would love to know- Please message me with the details as I love to learn this stuff! I'm also curious as to why these dolls were packaged in plastic and not in a box. I'm unsure if these were a return to the Sears company- or if these never made it to the shelf. Maybe these were never packaged in a box. However, I cannot continue to speculate without the full answers- again if someone knows- please enlighten me!
