Description: Vintage Quilt top, Dresden Plate, 100% Hand stitched, has 30 hand pieced and embroidered "plates" hand sewn onto approx. 11" muslin squares + 4.5" pale yellow border. Overall size is 76" x 63". (It is photographed on the top of a queen mattress.) The first 5 photos give you a sample of vintage fabrics used; the last 4 show any imperfections I could find on the top, which include one corner "plate" with several small stains (on plate as well as backing muslin) and several small stains on the yellow border - these last three appear to me to be blood stains (most likely from the seamstress); there are also two very small holes on the edge of the yellow border. Otherwise, the top is in excellent condition and colors are bright. I estimate, based on fabrics, this to be from the 1930s. This is a quilt top ONLY, with no filling or backing.This top is entirely hand-stitched, with no sewing machine used, including the sewing of the squares together.
