Description: Vintage Postcard Collection: 120+ cards & OLD Sears Harmony House Sample "Album". Let me start by simply saying, people in Akron, Ohio, are a frugal sort. They keep everything and reuse it in quite different ways. Take this “postcard album,” for example. Harmony House sent out “Sample” books to Sears every season. Inside the book (in this case the fall book), Harmony House provided fabric samples of their products. Every year the book would be replaced and a clerk took the sample book home and reused it – for postcards! The “album” covers feel like leather. The cover says, “Feel the Quality, See the Color of SEARS.Harmony House Curtain, Draperies, Upholsteries, Fabrics , Bedspreads. The front cover lower right corner has been bumped. The "album" is probably from the 1950s.The “samples” were carefully removed and sheets of postcard holders put in. The first and last pages do not have the slots for placing postcards but the other 48 pages can hold up to 384 postcards (four per side, 2 sides per page). The "Album" measures about 12-1/2 in. by 11-1/4 x 2-1/4/ The album has 120+ postcards. I have photographed every page. Some are in the slots, some are not. Most are linens, some are postally used. The Akron family who owned this family either traveled extensively – or knew someone who did – or simply collected postcards for a very long time. The EBAY limits on number of photos prevent mefrom showing them all. Most of them are four color. A few are from outside the country. What a bonanza! You get a great “album” with an advertisingfront cover (probably from the 50s), lots of places to put your postcards AND 120+ vintage postcards, all for one buy it now. Plus you will be helping theAkron-Canton Regional Food Bank, at a time the non-profit is facing state cutbacks.
