Vintage Metal Pinback Medal in the shape of a shield, with the words Oro en Paz Fierro en Guerra (Gold in Peace, Iron in War) under a bird with wings spread. Approximately 1 inch high by 3/4 inch wide toward the top. Possibly a piece of San Francisco history? I know Oro en Paz Fierro en Guerra is the official motto of the City and County of San Francisco, but I don't know if this item directly relates to San Francisco. I know the person from whom I obtained this item lived for many years in the Bay Area. OK condition. The front has some wear but the dark blue, red and black colors can still be seen. The back has some minor surface corrosion. The pin on the back seems to be stuck in the locked position, possibly due to the pinlock being bent or distorted. OK condition. Nothing seems broken or missing. There is minor surface discoloration and corrosion from age, mostly on the back. For packing material I reuse some combination of the following materials: styrofoam peanuts, foam padding, tissue paper, cardboard, clean (no ink) packing paper. I strive for reuse of these materials and encourage buyers to reuse packing material whenever possible. If you wish to have items packaged with other materials, please notify me upon payment and I will try my best to accommodate your preference depending on availability of alternate packing material.
