Description: Perhaps the rarest item up for sale from my collection, the Philips Auto Mignon model AG1923. For those not familiar with this interesting device, it was designed as one of, if not the, first attempts to offer consumers the option to play their recorded music in car (and/or on the go). While I understand they worked surprisingly well, they were soon rendered obsolete by 8-track players. While I haven't tested this one, my understanding is that it does not work. The gentleman who owned it before me made a number of notes on what he found when he tested it, and I will provide these notes to the purchaser. However, I have no way of knowing exactly when he tested it. He apparently had no issues with the mechanics (inserting or removing a 45, getting the cartridge to drop and record to spin), but could only hear sound from the cartridge, not the speaker. I have never seen this model up for sale in any condition, though I do sometimes see later models. **PLEASE NOTE: This item is sold as not working or for parts. As such, there are NO RETURNS on this ultra rare item. Please ask any questions you may have prior to purchase. Thank you for looking!
