Description: Vintage Pennsbury Pottery Amish Man & Woman Pretzel Snack Bowl Folk Art, made in Morrisville, PA. The company started around 1950 near Morrisville, PA. Pennsbury Pottery was founded by Henry and Lee Below and named Pennsbury, due to the close proximity of Pennsbury Manor, the colonial estate of William Penn, the colonial founder of Pennsylvania. The company hand decorated art pottery with a very distinctive look. The company closed in 1970. The bowl is gold / tan with a center embossed design of an Amish couple. The woman is holding a pretzel and the man is holding a beer mug. The background has a crossed line design and the rim of the bowl is brown and suggests the shape of a pretzel. The bowl is 11.5" long, 8.5" wide and 2.4" deep. The dish is in good condition with no chips or cracks. There are a couple of tiny light tan spots along the rim (see photos 4 & 5). I have other Pennsbury Pottery items in separate listings and I'm happy to combine items to save money on postage.
