Description: Pair of hand carved wooden figures, OURO Artesanias, made in Spain.Don Quixote on horseback and Sancho Panza on donkey.Don Quixote is 7 3/4" tall and 6" long, about 8" across with lance. The lance comes out of its opening. Sancho Panza is 6 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" long. These are older pieces; we believe they are pre-1960. Together they weigh 13.2 oz, unboxed. They have a rather substantial feel in the hand, and are not as light weight as some other Don Quixote carvings. These are detailed, high quality carvings. Color has been added to enhance some details such as reins on animals, etc.Sancho has a rope leading to the donkey. Don Q. has a strap of some sort for reins - it is old and has become dry and somewhat brittle. There is a hairline in the wood curvy part of the horse's neck, but it does not go through. (photo 18). It seems to be related to the grain of the wood; mentioned for accuracy. The lance tip has broken off, but both pieces are included. (seen in photo with clear tape). It is a long very slender piece of wood. We believe it could be reattached with glue or ? We leave this to the buyer. Please look at all the photos as they are part of the description.
