Description: Vintage NYNH&H Black Canvas Rollsign 4PM The Gilt Edge Express Grand Central Terminal Station. The canvas measures 17" wide and it is about 54" long when unrolled. The metal rollers are genuine original and are about 19 1/2" long. Lists the station stops along the route - Route 128, Providence, Westerly, New London, New Haven, Bridgeport, Norwalk, Stamford, New York 125th St. It also reads as Advance Section The Gilt Edge "Coaches Only". I would date this to the 1950 era, perhaps a bit later. Guaranteed an authentic piece of railroad history. Good used condition on the original metal rollers - see detailed photos. It weighs 6 pounds 2 ounces. The New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, commonly known as The Consolidated, or simply as the New Haven, was a railroad that operated principally in the New England region of the United States from 1872 to December 31, 1968. Founded by the merger of the New York and New Haven and Hartford and New Haven railroads, the company had near-total dominance of railroad traffic in Southern New England for the first half of the 20th century.
