Description: You are looking at a magnificent Turquoise and Sterling silver bolo tie, made by Navajo silversmith Angela Lee. It's a vintage piece, and has been in my family a long time, but I can't say for certain if my Dad or Grandfather bought it new. According to the link below, which is a catalog of Native American hallmarks, this is a first generation Lee piece, indicated by her hallmark style. It's large and impressive bolo, measuring 1 3/4" across and 2 1/2" top to bottom. 53.4 grams, but that includes the leather cord. The turquoise stone itself itself is 3/4" wide and 1 7/8: long. I don't consider myself an expert on turquoise, but as a multi generational New Mexico native I get regular exposure to Native American jewelry. The stone has the more ever so slightly greenish tint common to southern New Mexico turquoise mines such as Hachita or perhaps even the Tyrone area. Not the strong green tint of some of the Nevada mines, but slightly as opposed to the sky blue of Bisbee for example. The silver of the bolo itself has minor scratching typical of use, but no dents or real damage. The tips are identical and appear to be original, though one is slightly dented (see photo). The leather is soft, supple and not the slightest bit stiff or flaky. The bolo has not been cleaned and the patina is intact for you to enjoy or clean yourself. Folks, this is the real deal; a vintage Navajo bolo tie in great condition with a pretty solid provenance, and from a well know silversmith. Please examine the photos carefully. I don't accept returns. I will shoot as many photos as you like and provide as much information as I can, but I am not misrepresenting this item in any way. I've been an Ebay seller for many years and I have an excellent rating for a reason. Feel free to contact me with any questions. I do not ship internationally. I ship only to Ebay verified addresses. Free shipping via US Mail. Hallmark Link: (look under Angela, not Lee. Odd listing system) http://www.art-amerindien.com/hallmarks/a-indian-native-american-jewelry-marks.htm
