Description: Antique Museum Exhibition Catalog for the Heinz Ocean Pier at Atlantic City NJ From the title page - Extensive travels, covering a period of many years and embracing most of the civilized countries of the world, have furnished Mr HJ Heinz, the founder and present head of HJ Heinz Company, an exceptional opportunity for the collection of the antiquities and objects of art, described in the following pages, which are now on exhibition at Heinz Ocean Pier. These paintings, bronzes, tapestries, curios, etc, have been catalogued and arranged in the belief that they will prove instructive and interesting to the connoisseur, and entertaining to visitors. The cover shows an illustration of the pier with the 57 logo above the building along with well dressed visitors walking the boardwalk. Clothing is still floor length dresses for the ladies so likely the 1910s - they look like the cast of The Music Man The catalog itself is not dated but inside are references to when items were added to the collection and the last date I found was 1914 so it’s after that. HJ Heinz died in 1919, and the title page says he was the “present head” of the company, it must be prior to 1919. Many black and white photos throughout. Color images on inside covers The pier itself existed until 1944 when it was destroyed by a hurricane and never rebuilt Note - there was some ink transfer from the inside front cover image onto the facing page. See photos. All pages present and well attached with double staple. 36 pages
