Description: A vintage, women’s mink hat by Mr Charles offered by Snowdrift Antiques. Charles Salesky bought the Hat Corporation of America in 1955 and sold hats for almost 40 years under various labels, including the “Mr. Charles” label in this hat. This is a vintage mink hat from probably the 1960s. It is a light brown colored mink hat formed by long strips of fur sewn together to a crown on top. The inside has a black grosgrain band with a lining. It also has its “Union Made” label. It comes in a vintage cardboard hat box from Joslin’s, a now closed department store chain in Denver, Colorado. This hat has an inner circumference of about 22 inches. This would translate to an approximate hat size of 7. There is a small amount of stretch provided by the grosgrain band. This hat is in excellent vintage condition. The fur is in excellent condition, clean and soft with no bare spots. The inside and inner edges are clean with no visible wear. It appears it was and well taken care and rarely worn. This is a very nice vintage hat that is ready to get back out into the world.
