COULD BE CLEANED TO YOUR SATISFATIONThese miniatures were intended to be used, sometimes with a paper gift certificate enclosed, as a present of a hat as a gift for a man (usually "Dad") and were known to be very popular at Christmas, Father's Day, birthdays and other holiday times. Some people have listed these as salesman samples, which is OK, because they are very similar. What made these so wonderful is that the child that purchased the gift certificate with "Mom" and then gave these as a gift, got to keep the box and hat for play, and then the Dad got a hat that fit when the certificate was returned to the store!
