Description: VINTAGE MID-CENTURY SINGING BIRD IN CAGEAUTOMATON - WESTERN GERMANY - AS IS This recent find is a bird in a brass cage, with yellow, red, and brown feathers. It is an automaton made in Western Germany after WW II (see photo of label on bottom). The turning mechanism works fine. The bird's tail moves up and down and its beak opens and closes, but no sound can be heard. For this reason it is being sold "as is - parts only." There is some tarnishing of the brass. The automaton measures about 9-1/2" tall from bottom to the top of the finial, with a bottom diameter of 5-3/4". Please review photos and ask any questions before purchasing; we will be happy to answer them.
