Description: This is a fascinating and ethereal Vintage Mid Century Modern Surrealist Fantasy Oil Painting on canvas, depicting a surreal dreamscape with a red & white tiled floor, with a frightened hairless woman staring directly at the viewer, behind her is an archway with a castle in the distance. To her right, is a mysterious woman in a medieval hand maid outfit in an illuminated doorway. To her left is the profile of a shadowy male figure, with the facial features of a Greek or Roman deity, who stares coldly in the direction of both women. This work “is” signed, in the lower right corner, however the signature appears to have been purposefully obscured and rubbed off. A few letters are still visible. The reason for this is unknown to me. Perhaps you recognize the artist or their work? This work dates approximately to the 1970’s - 1980’s. Good condition, with some areas of light scuffing and minor paint loss (please see photos.) Approximately 19 1/4 x 37 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 18 x 35 1/2 inches.
