Description: ** OK, time to mark these down. Christmas is coming and slippers are always popular! *** This is the original description. These classy leather slippers look like something Cary Grant would have worn in a 1930s movie while lounging in a dressing gown in a hotel suite. Very suave! I don't think they're quite that old despite their classic style. As far as I can tell researching the shoe company, it was located in what was called the shoe district of Haverhill Maine just north of Boston. The shoe district began sometime around 1850. Shoes were manufactured there by the thousands until the end of the 70s. This pair came from the clean out of a historic house. They were nice and clean, but not in a box. . As far as the size goes, they are an eight medium, but older sizes tend to run a little smaller than modern sizes, so they might be more like a seven and a half to an eight and on the narrow side.
