Description: 1941 Vintage Beverage Dispenser w/push button spout, original ribbed lid and stand. Awesome RARE item Seen in Gene Florence fifth edition KITCHEN GLASSWARE of the Depression Years showing it also came w/an ice insert. However, please note that in the book it was missing the stand. This is the only stand I've seen. Lid is marked McKEE GLASS CO. JEANNETTE PA 2285096 Base and bottom of jar are also patent ID'ed . Jar's lettering is larger and not as defined so couldn't get a clear photo. Spout is marked ECONOMY FAUCET CO. NEWARK, N.J. This is a fantastic item which is seldom found, especially with all original parts . There are no cracks, chips or repairs. The glass has a bit of beautiful bubbling and a slight golden hue attesting to it's depression era birth. The glass is like new but for extremely little roughness on inner top rim, almost none. The 8" ribbed lid has a deep lip to fit outside the jar rim holding it well in place. The base is also ribbed, is hollow with 3 wide tab 'feet'. Top is bowl shaped to accomadate the The mouth of the jar is ground smooth, not molded. Both front and back have a flat oval breaking up the ribbing that works well to mark contents or place a label. Both sides show "FILL LINE". Though I've never seen one in person I've seen a morgue photo of a glass ice insert that some came with so that may be the reason for the limit indicator. Since it is obviously threaded inside you could likely unscrew for new gasket/washers. The whole dispenser stands just over 18" tall. Stand is 5" leaving the jar alone just over 15". Widest point's about 11-11 1/2" at widest. The dispenser is HEAVY, made of thick heavy duty glass. They just don't make things with the same care and character they used to. This is a beautiful example of glassware from early 1940s. With these utilitarian items 70+ years old someone took great care for them to survive so well...so long.
