Description: Back in the last century there were two interesting culinary features in Philadelphia. One was the eternal battle for top dog recognition for the best cheese steak (eg Jim,s, Geno's and others). The second was the rivalry between the two "Bookbinder's" restaurants, both claiming to be "The Original". In fact, this matchbook, represents the "Old Original Bookbinder's Restaurant" which moved to 125 Walnut Street in 1896 after starting up at a nearby location in 1893. It claims "An International Tradition Since 1865" which probably refers to the Bookbinders' restaurant experience before they emigrated from Europe. This location, "Down by the River" had a notable Victorian interior as well as excellent seafood. This cover is a 30 Strike size, 2 inches in width. See my feedback and buy with confidence.
