Description: THANKS FOR CHECKING OUT MY AUCTION. PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE DESCRIPTION AND MY POLICIES BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID. Check out my other items! Be sure to add me to your favorites list! This listing is for a vintage "Master by Gregory Hollywood" alto saxophone mouthpiece. The M.C. Gregory brand is most commonly associated with saxophonist Paul Desmond of the Dave Brubeck quartet, and writer of the jazz classic "Take 5". Desmond played a Gregory "Model A" throughout his career. The Master model is basically the same design as the Model A, but came a little bit later in the Gregory lineage. This one bears the serial number 1138. It is stamped 4 on one side, and 18M on the other. The 18M represents the middle size of three (very similar) chambers. The tip opening measures .067", which is the equivalent of a modern Selmer "C*". This piece has scooped inner side walls. It is made of hard rubber. This mouthpiece is in very good used condition. The facing is smooth, and original. There are no tooth indentations on the beak. There are no cracks or other damage. The rubber shows minimal fading/discoloration, and the logo/markings are nice and clear. There is some minor ligature scratching on the exterior. This piece has been cleaned/sanitized. Please feel free to email me with any questions. Thanks again for looking! 11/2/24-5
