Description: This is a funky and fun little Bird’s Eye Maple Concertone banjouke with a fairly uncommon Gumbyhead peghead. It’s ready to be played; it’s got great tone and playability. The instrument is almost 21 inches long and the old calfskin head is almost 7” wide, typical of the banjoukes with a tension hoop. The instrument is mostly original. The 16 j-hooks, nuts and brackets look like they’re matching. The tension hoop, skin and tailpiece look old and original. 2 of the tuners had cracked buttons, so I replaced them with fairly rare off-white ones for a little more flair and originality. The bridge is a Grover. The strings are D’Add. Nyltechs; great tradition gut-like tone. The heel appears to have been cracked and glued back together pretty well. I put a screw into it to reinforce it properly. The instrument is clean and ready for use. Look at the pictures; they are a good way to evaluate the condition of the banjo ukulele. Thanks for looking.
