Description: * Here we have the Louis Marx Police Chief car in a fair original incomplete box.* Made in Swansea (UK) by Louis Marx & Co Ltd. Understood to have been produced in the 1950s.* Plastic model ~ Blue with Cream roof; Plastic windscreen; "Police Chief" emblem on bonnet; Tyres marked Louis Marx Made in Gt. Britain; Steering wheel and seat present; hub caps present. ~ Measures approx. 10.25 inches long; 3.75 inches wide and 3 inches high. There are two slots on the bonnet (photo 11) - not exactly sure what these were for, whatever did fit in these slots is missing.Directions on the box "Hold car firmly, push along floor and release. Momentum set up in motor will propel it".This friction motor action is working fine. The siren noise is only feint, this may be improved should you have the knowledge.* This is a scarce item now and would be a great addition to the collection.* Overall in very good condition with some surface scratches, and some tarnishing to the metal underside.* The original illustrated box is in only a 'fair' condition. There are numerous small tears/scuffs/marks etc with end flaps missing, as you can see in the photos 12-17. It would certainly benefit from some attention to strengthen the box.
