All metal parts stick to a magnet. There is an adjustment knob to set it to zero. It measures 8 1/8 inches tall and weighs three pounds, two ounces. I do not know when it was made, but the patent date is 1907. I tested it up to13 pounds and compared to a digital scale. Any information about this scale would be appreciated.
