Vintage JUDY GARLAND DOLL Wizard of Oz Composition IDEAL

Description: Oh what a treasure this will be for someone! For your consideration, straight from an Estate Sale a truly wonderful 16" all composition Ideal JUDY GARLAND doll from 1939, originally costumed as Dorothy from The Wizard Of OZ. Marked on the back of her head...IDEAL DOLL-MADE IN USA, Her back is marked USA and 16. She is NOT mint, but she is exceptionally nice. She is wearing a Mommy-made blue gingham rayon jumper dress with a white organdy blouse trimmed with blue rick rack, blue ribbons (I believe not original) in her hair, vintage shoes and socks. There is a frayed area on the back of her white blouse. Her composition is in fantastic condition, but it does have a few flaws. The main flaw is there is a small beginning of a crack on the base of her head, in the back. She has crazing, its minimal for her age, not too noticeable in natural light. I took pictures in a very bright light to show as much as possible. There's also a bit on paint rub on her neck. Her eyes are nice and clear, and they do function freely, however she has some shorter eyelashes on one eye, but not too noticeable. Her body joints are good and tight, no damage to fingers. Her hair is all original but messy. The Rubber bands on the bottom are replaced as are the blue ribbons. One of the soles has come loose on her shoe and someone added tape. I have not attempted to fix this, I will leave this up to the new owner. Also, not sure if the shoes are original, I have seen her with black shoes. But, they are definitely from the correct period. She is free from any other damages other than what is stated, free from smoke or foul odors. This is a pre-owned Item. I try to list as clearly as possible but do not claim perfection on any of my listings, I may overlook something. I have not undressed the doll, removed shoes etc. I have looked her over very carefully by moving things aside but didn't want to touch her too much as her dress and body are old & fragile.So, Please accept the responsibility of ASKING QUESTIONS! Update: I was advised by a collector that the dress is not original to the doll, so I updated my description and adjusted the price.
