Description: Vintage Ivory Hooded Wedding Gown 70's with Cape Lace Pearls Mary Burns Boston This gown is made of Qiana which was a silk-like fiber introduced by DuPont during the late sixties, and often used in high-end and designer fashions.I was a size 8 when I got married in 1975; bridal dresses have always been cut on the small side, so keep that in mind. I think my bra size was a 32A padded bra way back then; my weight was 115. I was 5' 4" when married and the dress was altered to fit that height, wearing a 3" heel. 14.25 seam to seam across the shoulders 15.25 inches across the bust, approximately 30.50 bust 14 inches across the waist, so around 38-inch waist. The dress flows freely under the bustline. The dress does bustle in the back with three threads that hook to the buttons on the back. One of the threads needs to be restitched, a simple fix.The hood is detachable and I have to be honest I forget how it actually attaches to the dress. It has three hooks for a hook and eye closure, but I don't see the eyes on the dress where you can connect them. Forgive my forgetfulness it has been 48 years! The dress is not fussy as I was a child of the 60's and against a big fancy wedding. Mom won that battle. Normally I do take returns, however for this dress I won't be taking returns because it is a delicate dress and I don't want to risk wear and tear by shipping it back and forth to multiple buyers and the cost of shipping.
