Description: This vintage Happy Buddha is 'really happy'. The statue is made of ceramic. Buddha has a white robe and gold trim. If you love the Buddha like I do, this statue will make a fabuous altar piece. This is the only piece I have come across that has a dot between the eyes of the Buddha. It's called Urna, also known as the 'third eye' or 'eye of wisdom'. The Urna is an auspicious symbolic feature commonly found in Buddhist art and represents insight, enlightenment and spiritual vision. The piece also has the upper body unglazed with a light matte skin tone.This Buddha has 'very long ear lobes'. The face is meticulously hand-painted. There is a red felt piece on the bottom that might cover up where this piece was made. It was most likely made in China but I don't know that for sure. The statue is 3" in height, 4 1/4" in length, and 2 1/2" wide.
