Description: This is a large model approximately 14" long made of wood. Overall in excellent condition. Model is of the Philadelphia Volunteer Fire Company Union 8. The model was presented to Chief George F. Hink commemorating his 40th year of service by the members of Engine 25. Unknown who made the model, but presumably a member or members of Engine 25. Hink joined the PFD in 1921, rising to the rank of Commissioner. The model would thus have been presented in 1961 when he was deputy Chief of Department. In 1964 he became Commissioner and died in 1965. Interesting piece of Philadelphia Fire History.
