Description: Vintage Hand Carved Painted Wood FOLK ART Life Size BLUE JAY Bird, Signed Click images to enlarge Description VINTAGE FOLK ART CARVED BLUE JAY BIRD Striking vintage hand carved and painted folk art Blue Jay bird on driftwood mount with wood plinth base measuring about 5-1/2" tall by 7-1/2" long. Featuring a realistic crested Jay with open beak, beautifully carved and detailed wings and tail, overall fine line carving to mimic feathers, and glass inlaid bead eyes - I believe the feet are metal with hand painted banding to mimic the real thing. Angle mounted to a piece of driftwood for a more realistic pose, it is accented with a polished oval wood base incised with the stylized signature letters PRL. Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks, hairlines, repairs, discolorations, or damage - I can't stress the life-like nature of the bird - artist has captured it perfectly.
