Description: The William L. Allison Company was an important New York publisher of impressive-looking but inexpensive cloth-bound books during the late 1880s and early 1890s. The Arundel Series was one of their popular imprints of important works of fiction, history, and juvenilia. This volume of Dickens' GREAT EXPECTATIONS has no date page but probably dates from c.1885-1893. Fair condition. Blue-green embossed boards are worn and bumped at the corners. Gilt title on spine is rubbed. Two pinholes at the top of the spine. Text toned and a small piece missing from fly leaf. Hinges are cracking and spine broken at several places. A gift inscription on one of the end papers.
