There is a chip on the lid rim (see pictures). The well has a glass peg that holds it in place on the wooden stand. The stand has a hole for the well peg to sit in. The pen rest is 2 1/2" long. The wooden base has hand painted cherries (with paint loss) and the bark area has been brushed with gold paint. The pen is inscribed on the wooden handle 97 E Farer USA Peer.
