Description: Here is a lovely 1940s/50s ceramic teapot crafted by Gibsons & Sons of Staffordshire, England. It's off-white with gold accents and a design of purple violets. One side has the violets in a tan Victorian style basket and the other side has a cluster of violets. All around the top edge, on the handle and on the spout are decorative "S" shapes in gold. The handle, the spout, the top opening and the lid knob have thin gold line accents. The base of the pot has a bold gold band that is about 1/4" wide. The lid has a flange protrusion to keep it in place while pouring. The teapot is in good vintage condition no with chips or cracks. There's lots of crazing inside and out. It measures 6" tall to the handle knob and 10” long from spout to handle. The bottom is embossed and stamped in black "Gibsons Staffordshire England". Also there's a hand marked number in gold. Thanks for looking.
