Design of 6 wells depicting natural shells for oysters surrounding a round centrepiece for lemon or sauce. Each well's boarder is highlighted in blue, while space in between the shells and the center well are featuring flowery ornament. These oyster plates are hand-painted and every plate is slightly different from another one making each one unique. There is no marker's stamp or signature but the painting style is close to Breton region's traditional style so most probably they come from that area of France where Quimper' fiancé pottery has been established. Since plates are hand-painted and not signed very likely it is from a small Breton's pottery.Dimensions: Diameter of these oyster plates: 10" / 24 cm.
