Description: Vintage French or Swiss Oil Painting, Garden of the RomanesqueChurch of Santa Maria del Sasso in the Village of Morcote, Lake Lugano, Switzerland, 1962 This charming vintage French or Swiss oil painting on board depicts the garden of the Romanesque church Santa Maria del Sasso in the village of Morcote on the banks of Lake Lugano in Switzerland at the Italian border. One of the entrances to the church and a wall with frescoes are in the background. The back is marked in French, “Morcote. 62. Lac de Lugano”, indicating that it was painted in 1962. Framed, this painting is in very good condition. The frame shows some cracks and small losses on the moldings. The back of the board is partially covered with red tape used to attach it to the frame and which we have left as it bears the above inscription. Please refer to the detailed photos on this page.
